Espresso Machine?

My mother-in-law got me a 3 in one espresso/coffee maker. It’s really nice. It doesn’t however come with instructions on how to make the espresso? It has the little metal cup that locks into place, the small glass caraff on the bottom and a place to froth milk. I have no idea how to use it! Any help?

The little metal cup that locks is for the coffee – must use really fine ground dark roast for espresso.

The small glass carafe on the bottom is where the coffee runs to when its brewed. You should have a metal high sided cup to froth the milk.

A few tips: use filtered water – no tap water – I have one of those pitchers that filers the water that I use – heat the milk to a scald (just before boiling point) before you froth it. It may from a skin on top of the milk but just skim it off.

I grind my own beans but you can buy espresso ground coffee in the stores.

In Italy they sprinkle capucchino with cinnamon
