Want To Know How To Pick Out Coffee Beans You'll Love? See Below!

What is a good espresso machine for under $100?

Not one that is steam driven, at the very Least a 9 bar, that makes at least 4 ounces/2 espressos at a time, with a frothing wand, and a cup warmer wouldn’t be out of bounds!

I have another question. Can you use just plain coffee grounds or do you have to have it specially ground? if you do on some models, I want one that allows you to use plain coffee grounds.

MAKERS: If you find one with a cup warmer for under $100 then I want to shop with you! I used to own a Braun, and it was fine; it wore out and I got a Hamilton Beach (which Consumer Reports rated highly) and it’s junk.

When you’re buying, look at the metal insert that holds the grounds. If it’s shallow, don’t buy.

COFFEE: you will not–repeat–will not have good espresso with subpar coffee. Regular coffee will not work; I have a Braun grinder and espresso takes its finest setting. Moreover, you need good dark espresso roast beans (and OK, if you want the shop to grind them for you, I won’t look down on you too much–but grinding fresh before brewing is better). Fresh beans will have a higher oil content–unless they’re from Starbucks, they burn their beans–and if properly pressed into the screen insert (takes about 35 lbs. of force–professionals practice with a bathroom scale) they’ll yield an espresso that is smooth and deep and ornamented with the crema, the fine brown froth on top.

None, you would def. need more money to get a good espresso machine and one that would last you a long time with trouble….most of the cheaper brands may break down (along with any other small appliance) and the cost of replacing that part is not worth it. So i recommend getting a really good one and spending the extra money since it would last you that much longer. Anything by Saeco or Krups would do.
